About us

Amy Balestier and Melissa Underwood, pictured here, are not only the site's moderators, they also happen to be sisters (proof that your children too will get along some day). In their role as moderators, they post new threads, select the Featured Mom and gallery photos, and keep an eye out for inappropriate content. They, along with volunteer moderators, work to keep the site topical and informative. Here's a brief introduction to Amy and Melissa ....
Amy Balestier (Username: AmyBal): A Stay-at-Home Mom, Amy is a mother of two, a three-year-old daughter and another who was born in July of this year. While she's a native of Pennsylvania, Amy and her family moved to Lancaster in the fall of 2007 from the New York-metro area. Prior to becoming a mom, she worked at a New York City non-profit in development and special event planning. She is a certified yoga instructor and has found enjoyment sharing the practice with her children. "It gives us a little sense of calm during our hectic days," she says. "With a little help, even the baby can do yoga!" Amy also enjoys reading and cooking.

Melissa Underwood (Username: MelissaU): Also a Stay-at-Home Mom, Melissa is the mother of a four-year-old daughter and two year-old son. She will be expecting her third child in March 2010. "Being extremely organized is priority number one these days." Formerly a special eduation teacher, Melissa finds her days filled with pre-school, trips to the library, toddler gyms and swim lessons. She will also be participating in The Breast Cancer 3-Day this October. This three day, 60 mile walk has kept her on her toes, literally. When she does come across a few minutes to herself, she enjoys cooking and reading.
